Question: What have you found out about your family tree!?

I found out that I'm related to Captain Christopher Jones of the Mayflower!. he came from my mother's side, from her mother!. my grandmother's maiden name is Dawn Marie Jones (now deceased, she died this year!. never met her)!. Christopher Jones is my Great 5x grandfather!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am related to John Wilkes Booth on my maternal Grandfather's side!. John Wilkes Booth murdered President Abraham Lincoln!. also, I come from a long line of coal miners in the South!. On my father's side, my G-G-Grandparents came to the United States from County Cork, Ireland, because of the Great Famine!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have a 3x Gt!. uncle who was sentenced to death for stealing ￡200 back in 1829 in Castle Cary!. He was sent to the Wellington Valley in Oz though on a ship called "Claudine"!.
I have a brewer Gt!. grandad who died of D!.T!.'s at the age of 39; at his inquest the Coroner said that he "had the appearance of a man who had accustomed himself to liquor"
My paternal grandparents didn't marry till my father was 12; unfortunately gramps' first wife was still alive, so it was a bigamous marriage anyway!.
My father's sister was strangled about 15 years ago!.
One ancestor approx 6 generations ago was interviewed for a Government Report on the employment of children in the mines - he had been a coal haulier from the age of 9, working an 8-hour shift, and walking 4 miles to the pit and 4 miles home at night!.
Nothing very glorious or notable about "my lot" I'm afraid!

All I have found is that I come from a long line of Miners Coal and Tin, but I have a Great Grandfather who was in Bodmin Goal,Cornwall in 1841, I do not know why as of yet but I will find out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
