Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I doubt very seriously!. Most people are doing good in their family trees to go back to the 1600s!. If a person makes a connection in some of their family lines to a noble or royal family they might get back a little further, maybe the latter part of the first millenium!. There just isn't documentaiton avaialble!. Documentation is the substance of genealogy!. Oh, you'll see family trees on the web taking ancestry back to Adam and Eve or even to David's royal family but they do not meet professional genealogical criteria for documentation!. Trees like that are based on guess work and speculation!. Reform Judaism defines a Jew by the religion alone!. Orthodox and Conservative Judaism defines a Jew by the mother alone, not their religion or the father!. They state they get the nation from the mother and the tribe from the father!. If they don't have a Jewish father, they belong to the tribe of the nearest male relative on the mother's side of the family!. Whereas if a person doesn't have a Jewish mother, they do not consider them Jewish unless they convert!. Most European Jews it has been said had appearances and characteristic similar to other people within their country but they still had appearances and characteristic of Jews from different countries!. Jews have intermarried with non Jews from the beginning of time!. It was only after they returned from Babylon that they strictly became the people of the law!. Before that they were the people of the covenant!. Jewish men were required to give up their non Jewish wives and send children by those wives away!. Jewish women were not required to give up their non Jewish husbands or the children they had by their marriages!. I would imagine any written records were destroyed during the sacks of Jerusalem not only by the Babylonians but by the Romans!. They were scattered all over the world and have interrmaried with people from all over the world!. The novel "The DaVinci Code" was based on another book "Holy Blood Holy Grail!." One of the 3 authors of the last book stated that if anyone said he believed that Jesus married Mary Magdalene that person would be a liar!. The book was merely a hypothesis!. Since there are so few records, it leave a lot of room for speculation and for someone to make up a novel!. So called historical novels should never be considered history books!.
