If you know the date he died you can do an archival search of the local newspaper for his obituary!. They will usually tell where the person was buried!. I Googled Fall River MA Cemeteries and came up with Bristol County Massachusetts Cemetery Directory which should help!. But if not there are a lot of other sites under the same category!.
Happy hunting!.
By the way!. Are you certain that your father in law is dead!? If your mother in law is above the age of 60 and the father either divorced or was sent to jail people would lie about what happened!. ( They would not want the neighbors to know)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Write or visit the place in which he passed away!. Since your husband is a son of the deceased he can acquire information at the Vital records office or to the states capital!. I found my father's birth, death and burial records!. So call Fall River, MA courthouse they can help you although there might be a fee!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Check out the Social Security Death Index first!. Since you've got a lot of variables for us (died when, where !? receiving Soc!. Sec!.!?)!. If you find him, ask the local Library/Historical/Genealogical Society to copy the obit, if any!. If Cem!. not listed, try d!. cert!. at county--some states will give for family history!. If found, write Cem!. (Fam!. plot!? Vets section!?)!. You could always give us the name and maybe get some help!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your husband can send for a copy of his father's death certificate!. It usually says where the person is to be buried!. You can't send for it, only a spouse or grown child of the deceased can do so!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
