We all use the number, as in
"My 10th great grandfather"
"I'm supposedly the 14th great grandson of King Edwad the Randy, via his upstairs maid, Paige Turner"
"My 7th great uncle"

The standard is to use ordinal numbers (second, third, eleventh, etc) for great grandparents from the second great grandparent on!. In writing, some will do has you have done (x10) or some will use g's to represent the number of greats (ie, my ggggrandfather for third great grandfather)!. At some point it loses useful meaning, though!. Given the lack of documentation and the risk of infidelity, undocumented adoption, raising of other peoples children, etc!. it's hard to say for certain that your 32nd great grandfather is biological related to you!. Even if he is, you only have 0!.0000000058% of your DNA from him!. also, you have 17179869184 32nd great grandparents!. At that point, it makes more sense to simple call him your "distant ancestor!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

There's really no term I can think of!. Just list him as your 32nd Great-grandfather!. You don't need to keep repeating "great" onward to infinity when listing them on a family tree!. What's his name!?!? I've not heard of anyone getting back that far (when you think of 20 years per generation, you have at least 4 just getting to the Great-grandfather--you, mother/father, grandfather, great-grandfather, so you figure 32 on top of that!. So , at least 720 years ago)!. WOW!! Gooooooooood job!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am afraid that it is simply great grandfather and accumulating greats until you have gotten to the generation you wish obviously that often lead to error and can be somewhat tedious, I suggest you simply say my 33rd generation grandfather did such and such etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
