Question: Is Eamonn a common Irish name!?
I see it with one n, Eamon a little more often than I see it with two, as mine has!. I was just wondering if it is as popular as my crazy Irish mother tried to claim!. Then again, being half native american and half Irish, maybe it is lucky that mom one!. No telling what dad what have come up with!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Irish language spelling éamonn is fairly common in Ireland with an accent mark on the é!. This accent mark in the Irish language is called a 'fáda' (pronounced 'fawda') and gives the AY sound to the E!. Because the pronunciation of Irish spelt names is hard for those who do not know the language, names are often simplified in spelling, thus we get spellings such as Eamon!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think Eamon is the more common spelling of your name, I have two male friends both Irish and both with the Eamon with one n!.
I found this for you,
Eamon
Irish and English: from the Gaelic form of Edmund!. The normal Gaelic spelling is éamon or éamonn!. éamon de Valera (1882–1973) was president of Ireland 1959–73!. Cognate: Scottish Gaelic: Eumann!.
Hope this helps!.
