Question: Do people from Spain have two last names!?
I'm not talking about Latin Americans, I'm asking about Spain!. Do people take their father and mother last names!? For Instance Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, was his mother Rodriguez and his father Zapatero!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

In Spanish speaking countries, the double surname is common!. They do not do it the same way as they do in English speaking countries!.

A husband's name is his father's surname followed by his mother's maiden name!.

The wife and children are the husband and father's surname(patronymic) following by the wife's maiden name

until

the daughter gets married

She drops her mother's maiden name, pushes her father's surname to the right and puts her husband's surname (patronymic) in front!.

The above person's father would have been Rodriguez and his mother Zapatero!. You would address him as Senor Rodriguez!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think!.
Fernando Torres, Carlos Puyol, Iker Casilas and Xabi Alonso!. They're all football players, soz I'm a devoted fan!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Depends on the person's taste, really!.
If your father's last name is Lopez and your mother's is Figueroa, then Your name would be
(whatever your name is) Lopez Figueroa!.
