On my mother's side, we have traced one line back to Plymouth Colony; arrival c!. 1633!. Another has been traced back to the late 1600-early 1700s New York!. Several of the others go back to the mid 1700s!.
Most came from England, although some probably originated on the Continent!. We just haven't gotten that far back yet!. We believe that there is some Irish, Scottish, and German mixed in, also!. My grandmother always maintained that her one grandmother was half Native American, but I have found no proof of that yet!.
On my dad's side, most of them arrived in the mid 1800s in Canada!.
My dad was half English, half Scottish (his father's family was from England, his mother's from Scotland)

Scotish, Irish, German!. I have traced my father's paternal family to 1730's arrival in America, maternal family to 1500's in Germany!. Mother's paternal family to 1700's in Maine, and Mother's maternal family to Ireland!. Over 1200 people in my database/tree!. It this a lot!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I know that I, my parents, all four grandparents, all 8 great grandparents, and at least 14 of my 16 great great grandparents were all born in Pennsylvania!. Some lines I can trace back much further than that; others I can not!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Mine is mostly English and Scottish!. My ancestors came through South Carolina and then moved west!. I also have a teeny, tiny part of Cherokee in me, not that you can tell from the fair skin and blue eyes! lolWww@QuestionHome@Com
