Goris is a surname which is quite well known in the Flemish part of Belgium, and therefore I feel it may be of Belgian/Dutch, but also possibly French origin, as Belgium as a country was made up of Flemish and French speaking areas, belonging to Dutch and French governments before it became independent in 1830!.
