Question: Ancestry Test Question!?
I am planning on getting an ancestry test in the near future!. I already know most about my mother's side of the family but I'm really interested in learning the ancestry of my father's side!. My great-grandmother or his grandmother was a full-blooded Gypsy!. I know that the Gypsies crossed much of the Eurasian continent nearly 1,000 years ago!. Along the way, they might have intermarried with someone of Iranian or Russian descent!. I am very interested in this!. However, I heard that the test can only do a mother's mitochondrial DNA!. Can I get a test done to see what ancestry I am, especially on my father's side!? Is it also possible to trace back my Gypsy ancestry!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
There is no such thing as a full-blooded gypsy, or half blooded, or mixed or anything!. Gypsy is NOT an ethnic heritage or race that is found in DNA!. It is a lifestyle or culture that people choose to follow!. Saying that someone is a full-blooded Gypsy is like saying someone is full-blooded pirate or a full-blooded pyramid builder!. Your question is not logical!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do you have a brother!? He could take the test!.

I am not sure if that will show gypsy ancestry!.

For that you will have to do the research!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
