Nikke,
I want to give you a serious non-judgemental answer to your question!.
---------
I am not aware of any programs offering restitution for slavery!. The idea has certainly been proposed, but has never gone into effect!.
---------
The official definition of "White" in the United States is people who identify themselves as those having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa!. The key part of this sentence is "identify themselves"!. Race is self-identification officially!. However, there are millions of people with your demographic profile (probably many who don't know that their own heritage)!.
---------
As far back as 1958 scientists were estimating that 21% of the White population in America had some African blood, and 73% of the Black population has some non-African blood!. The article concludes with "The belief in the racial uniformity of an individual's ancestors may be the basic myth of the white man's past!."
Research done in the last half century has done nothing to change this core conclusion!.
===============
AFRICAN ANCESTRY OF THE WHITE AMERICAN POPULATION*
ROBERT P!. STUCKERT (May 1958)

Defining a racial group generally poses a problem to social scientists!. A
definition of a race has yet to be proposed that is satisfactory for all purposes!. This is particularly true when the racial group has minority group status as does the ***** group in the United States!. To many persons, however, the matter of race definition is no problem!. They view humanity as being divided into completely separate racial compartments!. A ***** is commonly defined as a person having any known trace of ***** ancestry or "blood" regardless of how far back one must go to find it!. A concomitant belief is that all whites are free
of the presumed taint of ***** ancestry or "blood!."

No, I do not think you, or other descendants of slaves, are owed restitution, any more than I am owed a retroactive welfare check, from the 1950's, when my mom worked 2 jobs to support me and my siblings!.
As for asking your mom for money, why don't you convince her to pay you an allowance for helping to keep the house clean, take care of the dog, mowing the yard, or cooking dinner!.
Maybe, she would be willing to pay you $$$$, for each "A" on your report card!.

I went to work at age 12; mowing yards, raking leaves, babysitting, washing & ironing clothes, which I could not afford to buy, for other people!.
I'm 62 years old and still work in order to provide for my only grandchild, a 14 year old girl, who lives with me!.
I do not receive, nor have I ever asked for, one single penny from any form of government, for her care!.

When I cash my pay check, I know that I earned it, because I worked for it!
Will you be able to say the same when you're my age!?

You make no sense in the phrasing of your first, run-on sentence!.

Your grandmother X3 was an African slave in America!? The U!.S!. specifically!? Using 26 yrs as the standard generation period, and assuming you are at least 26, that makes your subject ancester a person born 156 yrs ago!. Around 1852!. By that time the U!.S!. had stopped importing Africans from Africa (1820)!. The U!.S!. also began patrolling West African waters for U!.S!. ships still engaged in slaving to the Carribean and South America!. This all means that it is unlikely that your grandmother X3 was an "African slave"!. You are either mistaken, or a liar!.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt (you are mistaken) I will now endeavour to educate you:

If your family owned her then how are you her descendant!? If she married after she was freed, she would have had to marry one of her former white slave owners to eventually sire you in descent!. Again, highly unlikely!.

Humoring your obvious lie just for giggles!.!.!.since you must ask if you are owed restitution, then you obviously are not owed it!. Were it known to you, with all the DNA in your body, with every thought in your mind, with every wisp of your spirit that you are entitled to reparations, then you would be so entitled!. From whom should you ask!? From that entity that commissioned U!.S!. Naval ships to do in 1820 that which should have been done in 1790!. From that entity that did in 1807 (ended slave trade) and in 1834 (outlawed slavery) what it should have never participated in!. And from Spain and countless other European nations!. Arabs must also be hit up for originally bringing the cancer of slavery to Africa in the first place so many centuries ago!.

So, yeah!. Ask your mom!. Ask her why she never taught you not to lie!. Ask your teachers why they never taught you to think critically!. And ask your pastor why he never taught you how to love, to possess empathy, to risk forgiveness, and to ask for mercy!.

Good luck to you and yours!.

To Nikke: I could report abuse and have the entire mess removed but then my work product will be lost!. So I choose instead to humor your lie (yes lie) further by saying this: Just because slavery worked out for you, a black person able to live life as white with all the resulting privileges and advantages that come with it, just because you have the opportunity to claim to be from at once, both enslaver and enslaved, and just because you are in a forum where your identity is hidden and you don't have to actually prove anything does not mean you are not lying, that I am ignorant, nor that the descendants of black slaves don't deserve reparations!.

Madame it merely proves you lie!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't mean to be mean but why should anyone owe you anything!. Were you a slave!? If someone that is still living that was a slave and the people that made them a slave are still living then that slave is owed something!. You have to remember that a lot of people were inslaved!. Not just Blacks!. also a lot of the slaves were slaves already over in africa and other places!. You probably won't like my answer and I am sorry for being so blunt!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Theoretically, the persons who owe the restitution are long dead!. And many of them may be your ancestors!.
Is this greatx3 grandmother from your father's side!? And your mother's ancestors are the ones who owe!?

You can sure ask your mother and see what she says!.

Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Are you kidding!?
Why would anyone owe you for being born what you are!?
Certainly not!.
P!.S!. I'm Native American!. My people still suffer and there is no restitution for my tribe, which is still in existence!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

get over it!. u r not owed a thing!. men since the beginning of time have had trouble keeping it in their own pants!. we probably all have a mixed!? in the mix!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
