Position:Home>Genealogy> My did that family tree website thing and it said that im related to Britney speQuestion: My did that family tree website thing and it said that im related to Britney spears!?!!!? okay so on my family tree thing!. at that ancestor website it says me my mom them my grandma!. then it says my grandmas grandma then it goes to my great grandmas daughters!. then it says on of the daughters!. then it says Lynn Spears then there is a line with two circles that say Britney Spears, Jamie Spears, Brian Spears Jamie Spears again!. Holy crap!. !?!!!!!!!!!!!! could this be an error or am i really related to Britney spears!?!?!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Brian, if you traced your family back, you will probably find you are related to a number of famous and infamous people!. It might be cool but it really isn't wierd!. But let me tell you something else!. I went into AllVitalRecords!.com and it took me to Ancestry!.Com which is a great family history site as far as I am concerned!. However, you have to distinguish between the original source records and the submitted family trees!. The records they have obtained from government offices, libraries etc!. They have transcribed them but you can view the originals!. The family trees are submitted by subscribers and most are not documented or poorly documented!. You might see different info on the same people from different subscribers!. Then you will see repeatedly the same info on the same people from different subscribers, BUT that is no guarantee at all that all the information is correct!. A lot of people copy without verifying!. The same person also can subscribe to more than one website and have their family tree on more than one website or upload the information from one website to another!. It is very possible you are related to Brittney Spears, but she might not be the only one!. I will not make any unkind remarks about her as I feel she has had a lot of problems!. Hopefully she is getting it all back together!. I don't like the pop culture at all!. I don't like rap, redneck or rock!. My idea of good pop music was the Bing Crosby era but that reflects me age!. I didn't even like Elvis!. He had a pretty good voice but I don't particularly like someone who wiggles all over the stage and screams!. If you ever want to trace your family tree, there are lots of good people on this board that can give you some great tips and advice!. Just ask!. The trees you have seen might be great CLUES!. You will find family history very addictive!. If you know someone who said they found their family tree on the internet, tell them unless they have verified the information with documentation they don't know that what they have is valid or not!. She and her famiy are people who have thousands of distant relatives just as we all do!. Imagine how many other people are also related on the same family lines!. We're all confused!.Www@QuestionHome@Com First, if this is true, it should be easy enough for you to verify as fact by asking family members!. For Lynne Spears to be your great aunt, she would HAVE to be a sister to one of your grandparents!. Just ask your grandparents if she is one of their sister's; or ask your parents if she is one of their aunt's!. They would be able to know this!. However, IF Lynne was actually your great aunt, and aunt to your mom or dad, that would make Brittney your mom or dad's first cousin and would make her your first cousin once removed, not 2nd cousin!. MOST people know their first cousins pretty well!. If Brittney was your mom or dad's first cousin, chances are they would have known that all along, and so would have you!. I think the information you got is all wrong!. The relationships are TOO close for you to not have known this all along!. This is a classic example that you cannot take everything on genealogy sites as fact or accurate!. And lucky for you that this information was wrong, because being related to Brittney Spears isn't something to brag about!.Www@QuestionHome@Com |
