Question: Can you read this old handwriting (photo included)!?
I'm having trouble reading this address, found on a marriage certificate!. The address, in theory, would have been local to Barrow-in-Furness, Lancashire, but all the variants I try don't seem to come up in any street searches -

UK answer,
I dont know whether this will help but its a street index for Barrow in Furness!.

To me, it looks like GLOSSFIELD ROOSE!. After I looked at a street map of Barrow-in-Furness, I saw listings for a Roose Library, Roose Station, and Roose Primary School!. I had no problem with the Glossfield, but at first I thought it said NOOSE until I saw those other listings on the map!. Looking at it a second time, I could see it was an R at the beginning of the second word instead of an N!. However, it must not exist any more because when I searched for it, it said it could not be found!.

http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Roose
Roosecote or Roose is a suburb of Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria (the word "roose" is Celtic for “"moor"” or “"heath")!. Roose is mainly used to refer to the 19th century settlement of Roose Cottages, which consists of two main streets of terraced housing - North and South Row!. These were built when the area was developing as an important mining center, with newly opened mines in Stank and Yarlside!. Prior to the building of Roose Cottages and the arrival of the cornish miners Roose was pronounced with a hard S, as in Goose!. Now it is locally pronounced 'Rooze', due to the cornish accent!.

EDIT--from itsjustme's street list, I saw this under R:
"Barrow In Furness - Street Index - Barrow-in-Furness : Roose Road"!. But no Glossfield, or anything similar under the G'sWww@QuestionHome@Com

The last word is definitely Roose (which seem to be an area of Barrow-in-Furness according to what I found on Google)!.
As for the first line: !.!.!.field!.

EDIT : To be more precise, Roose is a suburd of the city Barrow-in-Furness, but still part of the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness!. But, be careful, there is also a Roose Road in the same area!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
