I think it's your genes -

No one can tell between my voice and my 2 daughters, the 3 of us sound the same and we all live a long way from each other!.

On the other hand I can't tell which of my sons is calling and they know they sound the same and take great delight in teasing me as to which one it is - they also live a long way from each other!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think it is environmental!. Voice inflection, pronunciation, whether flat or melodic, regional accents, even pitch are learned!.
