Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Finding a box specifically for old records may not be possible!.
The box has to be lined with felt and have separate compartments for each record, which are also lined with felt or flannel, to prevent the records from being scratched!.
If your husband has a talent for carpentry, he could make one!.
Perhaps, a carpentry teacher or student at your local high school/Vo-Tech can help you!.
Fabric stores sell felt and flannel by the yard!. If you know how to sew, you can make pocket sleeves (similar to a tote bag, without the handles) for each of them!.
Old records should never be stored on top of each other, as it will warp them!. They should be stored in an upright position!.
