I have a problem with the transcribers spelling and deciphering of a name!. I have all the other year census's fine!.!.!.this gentlemans wife was a widow on the 1851 to 1901 census records!.
One of their daughters (Emma born 1850) got married to a George Smith in 1870 - and on the marriage certificate it has her fathers name!. Even on that it isn't written clearly!. In fact it looks like scott, but I know it isn't Scott by the writing of the other letters!. The transcriber has written this chaps name down as Svett Holms for the 1841 Census!. Holms is correct (just about), but his christian name is the bit I'm having big trouble with!.
Please, can you have a look-up for me and tell me what you think his christian name is!. Then I can order the birth certificate of Emma and get her mothers maiden name!. The following is how it is transcribed on the Ancestry site!. Fenstanton, Huntingdonshire, Cambridgeshire!.
Your help would be very much appreciated!. Thank you!.
