Question: Could anyone help me please!?

Please could somebody explain to me how to search BMD's correctly please! I can read census no problem just don't know how to do the BMD!.!.

UK answer!.
At the top of any of the BMD there is the quarter which is the three month period in which the life event was registered, or happened!. There is a six week period for the registration of a birth, a five day period for a death to be registered and like wise with a marriage!.
With the BMD indice here in the UK there is a "VOLUME" and a "PAGE" number, these are unique numbers that are used when ordering a certificate from the GRO!.

After 1st July 1911 the mums maiden name was included on a birth certificate and that is how it remains!.
