Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: yes!. well, it's not that it's difficult to pronounce, just that everyone assumes that it is pronounced differently!. it's like if your last name was "browne", and they pronounced it "brow-nee" when it is really pronounced just "brown" does that make sense!? i hope so! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com Both my maiden name and my husband's last name!. McCallum (the a is pronounced "ah", not "a" like apple) Bissell (Rhymes with Thistle) - people say Bis-selle all the time! Drives me up the wall!. It's just like the vacuum company - not that hard! I grew up in a Polish community and let me tell you - a lot of Polish names don't look anything like how they are pronounced!. My classmates had their names slaughtered frequently!.Www@QuestionHome@Com once, a foreign exchange student from Germany who was not familiar with Irish names!. otherwise, it's my scandinavian first name that usually gets mangled!. It becomes quite annoying sometimes!.
