Ask the older relatives to relate what they heard!. Each will have a piece of the story, as most people can't remember the whole one!. Find the location of the shooting and then what newspaper would have reported it!. You can find old newspaper articles on microfilm!. This microfilm can be borrowed from your State Library (by your local library or from a Ladder Day Saints (LDS) Church Family Center!.
You can also put in his last name, county, state and words like shot, killed or whatever and you might find the story posted online somewhere!.

I don't know - it's be really hard!. You could try looking up a family tree website, but I don't think they keep records of that stuff!. Maybe if you looked up his death certificate!? If he was shot in battle or something, it shouldn't be as hard, but if he was shot passing by or something, it will be more difficult!.

You could try newspapers from the time!. If he was admitted to hospital afterwards, there might be some records there as well, but it may have been too long ago!.

I'm sorry to hear he died that way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

if you have his name, birth place and date you could probably look on those genealogy websites!.!. you might have to pay for it though!. or if you know where he died you might can go to that library and see if they have a microfiche to see if it was in the papers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

if you have the family tree books that explains everything about your family or you can google him under your last name or ask your family that knows about it

either way, I am very sorry about the death of your great-grandfatherWww@QuestionHome@Com

My great uncle had half his skull blown off in WWII and fell beside his brother!.

I know this is true because it was written in a family tree book!. Ask your family if they have some!. Otherwise google some family tree stuff!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If he was shot to death, I bet there was a news article about it
Especially if he lived in a small town
