Question: Will I get charged for a family tree on Ancestory!.com!?

If you go to www!.myfamily!.com you can create your own family tree for free and upload pictures and stories, etc!. It's powered through ancestry!.com, but there is no charge for it!.

I have my family tree on there and it's really cool! You can invite family members to join the tree also,and when you enter information about a person if will give you hints which lead you to ancestry!.com and if you have a subscription you can look at

I don't have an ancestry!.com subscription and have had my tree open since July and not received any bill or anything!.

You can maintain your tree on Ancestry!.com for free!. They will not come back to you later and ask for money unless there is a major policy change!. You can sign up for a 14 day free trial to use all of their databases for research!. Just be sure to cancel by the 14th day or your credit card will be charged!.

Some of the searchable databases will return results even with a free account!. But this is very limited and still does not display the full record!. The 1900 Census reports is an example of one of the few included searches!. When you do a basic search, each of the databases will have an icon to show if it is locked to subscribers only or if it is free!.

If you have very specific needs, you could probably complete all of your searching during the 14 day trial!. Otherwise, I would recommend jumping to the one year subscription for ongoing research!.

Again, the entry and storing of the tree is free!.

If you signed up for the free account that doesn't request a credit card # there will never be a charge, but there is limited access!.
