I always wondered why people agonize so much over it!. It's not like heterosexuals get into great detail about their sex lives with their parents!. As a mom, my feeling is "it is what it is!.!.!.as long as you're safe and healthy, I'm happy for you!." My 21 year old stepdaughter came out to us three years ago!. It wasn't made into anything big!. Her brother yelled out, "you're so gay" and she yelled back "yeah, so what if I am!?" From then on, the tension was gone and she talked about it when she wanted to!. But we don't discuss her sex life with her anymore than we discuss sex with the other kids!. Like most parents, we taught the birds and the bees!. If you have questions, come talk!. If you don't, we assume life is good!. Don't agonize over it!. Just make it a natural part of your life and don't feel that there's anything to hide!. It is what it is!.
