Question: For you Genealogists, my GGGGF is my cousins GGGGGF!. How do we define in Genealogy terms our being cousins !?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Same GF = 1st cousins
Same GGF = 2nd cousins
Same GGGF = 3rd cousins
Same GGGGF = 4th cousins
Same GGGGGF = 5th cousins

So, you and this fellow's dad are 4th cousins!. He is your 4th cousin once removed, through his dad!. (Change "he" to "she" and/or "dad" to "mom" if needed!.) When you have children, they will be 5th cousins to this fellow!. (Change "fellow" to "lady" if needed too!.)

Cousins share grandparents, and second cousins share greatgrandparents and so on!.

So that makes you 4th cousins-once-removed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
