Regarding Irish citizenship, unless at least one parent or grandparent was an Irish citizen at the time of your birth, you cannot claim Irish citizenship on the basis of extended previous ancestry (that is, ancestors other than your parents or grandparents)!.

Try searching the census, birth, death, marriage records using your great grandparent's names to find out what their parent's names were!. Here are a couple of websites where you can search for records:

http://www!.familysearch!.org/

If you edit your question with the names, approximate birth year and locations of your great grandparents, someone should be able to get some information for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You will find a huge Genealogy database right here on the internet!. Some sites are far far better than others and you cannot really recommend one above others without knowing your background/name but you can check yourself right away with some carefully used keywords in a good search engine like Google!. also try google!.co!.uk if the name is British and select "Pages from UK"Www@QuestionHome@Com
