Question: Why do i have blonde hair!?

Im 14 years old and my hair colour has stayed light blonde since i was a baby but my both my parents have brown hair and brown eyes, ohh and also i have blue eyes!. My grandparents have dark hair and one of them has green eyes!. None of my other family like cousins etc!. have blonde hair!. Soo my question is why really :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your parents could have a recessive gene for blonde hair!.

This is your parent's hair genes!.

BR= Brown

bl=blonde

Dad=BR bl

Mom=BR bl

the brown hair gene is dominant over the blonde hair gene so the blonde hair gene needs to be - bl bl - in order for it to be noticed!.

Based on this the offspring can have 3 different outcomes of genes for hair color!.

So the offspring has 3 different combinations of genes!. 2 of which will result in brown hair!. One will result in blonde hair!. So the odds of you having blande hair are 1 in 3

Your parents carry the recessive genes for blonde hair and blue eyes!. My mother had black hair!. My father had brown!. Both of my sisters were born with black hair that turn blonde and I mean tow headed!. However, as they got older it darkened!.

I was born with red hair, blue eyes and a skin cancer type complexion I had a red headed paternal grandfather and a red headed maternal grandmother!.

However, if you pay attention to people's appeance(not what they wear), you will notice there is more to their looking like someone than pigmentation!. People think my older and my younger look more alike than they do me!. However, my younger sister and I have the same facial shape and we both have our paternal grandmother's nose!. My older sister actually looked more like my mother's youngest sister than she did either of my parents which was due to the recessive genes my mother carried!.

Somewhere along the line an ancestor probably had blond hair and blue eyes!. I always wondered why I had red hair until I was doing genealogy!. I found that my maternal Grandmother's father was a red head!. It is really nothing to worry about!.

The obvious is that there is a gene in your background for blond hair!. What also happens (a lot!.!.) is that persons born with blond hair, often turn darker as they get older!. My hair was very blond when I was a kid!. If you look at your parents today, you are not always sure what they had, when they were little!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

maybe your great grandparents or great great grandparents had blonde hair and blue eyes ((or someone in the family tree)) but my mums hair is red and my dads is black but mines turning blonde lol so i suppose its just something to do with genetics lolWww@QuestionHome@Com
