Another is "Mother Mopsy" because I reminded my grandmother of someone who went by that name!. I have a lot more nicknames and they are names that you would give to your cat (such as Kitty, Kitty Wampus, Fluff) because I kinda resemble a cat!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Nicknames are, by their very nature, a way of "belittling" people, they are only given, because a person is using disguised aggression as an avoidance, or diminishing tactic, the people who get them are treated as labels for evermore, not as people, and when given to people you work with, can damage a persons chances for future prosperity, and promotions, or relationships!.!.!. it is how some people downgrade you, for their own benefit, as the person who adorns you with this "diminutive" is rarely seen as an offender, in the rat race, if they are even remembered as the originator of this, if this happens at work step on it immediately, or be labeled for life as a loser!.!.!.!.!.!.!. All that, being said, I have suffered from, being called , Firstly, "Haggis", at school, "Achmed" in the army, and latterly, "TT" at work, i will not explain the army one, but suffice it to say, I was seen as the man you went to, if you ran short of the odd tank or land rover, or radio, at others expense!.!.!.!.!.the result was, that I was never seen as a promotion prospect, despite my suitability, as it was just too easy to dismiss me as a person!.!.!.!. you have been warned, do not let this happen to you!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com At work I was called Mad Dog because of my aggressive direct style and work ethic (some liked it, some did not)!. The nickname came out in the open when our company's VP of Advertising (who was a good friend of mine) used a picture of my daughter in the company news letter (she was a model) and under the picture the caption read "Do you believe this is Mad Dog's daughter"!?Www@QuestionHome@Com When I was in high school I was really fat and I was called Beachball!. As I live in Scotland it eventually was shortened to Ba', I have now been known as Ba' for around thirty years, even though I am now much slimmer!.
