Question: "F of A" emblem on my distant relative's gravestone!?
I've seen many an emblem on a gravestone, and I'm usually able to decode them!. However, on a recent genealogy-based visit to a local cemetery, my husband and I found this:

It was on the backside of my great-great-great uncle's gravestone!. Can anyone identify what it is!? I found one website listing an organization called the Foresters of America, but I haven't found this particular logo/emblem on their website!. Help!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

That is the logo of a member of the Foresters of America fraternal organization!. They have an excellent database of all of their members because they used to pay a death benefit on a fraternal life insurance policy!. I'd contact them and see if they can give you more information about him and his life as a Forester!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Some of the badges shown on the site below have the "stag" on them with the initials IFO LBC - Independent Order of Foresters!. LBC stand for "Liberty, Benevolence and Concord", a motto of the society!.

What was the date!? that would help!.!.!.!. also location or perhaps just a region!? I assume it would be US, since you are considering Foresters of America - but that is a guess!.!.!.!. Britain!? North Eastern US!? North Western US!? Canada!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
