Can't say how you can find your father!. If he is still living, try Yahoo People Search or Zabasearch!.com!.

To find info on your family tree, you need to reseach it starting with yourself and working back one generation at a time!. There are lots of websites!. Some have records, some family trees, some mailing list and some message boards!.

Ancestry!.Com has all 4!. If you find it too pricey, your public library might have a subscription to it you can use!. Warning: Don't take as absolute fact everything you see in family trees on their website or ANY website, free or paid!. The information does not come from experts working for the website but from folks like you and me!.
You might see different info on the same people from different subscribers!. Then you will see repeatedly the same info from different subscribers on the same people, but that is no guarantee at all it is correct!. A lot of people copy without verifying!. The information can be useful as CLUES as to where to get the documentation!.

Don't expect to find information regarding living people in online family trees!. That can be an invasion of privacy and can lead to identity theft!.
