The world "latino" refers to the fact that the native language comes from latin roots!.!.!. There for, spanish, french, portuguese, and italian!. The term "latino" was adapted later and used as a synonym for "hispanics", although this is incorrect, since hispanics are not the only latinos: (brazilians are also latinos, although they do not speak spanish)!. Some contries other than those of spanish origin fall under Latin American countries, with Haiti and Brazil included!. Haiti was colonized by france, and the Dominican Republic (my native country and the country that Haiti shares an island with) was colonized by Spaniards!. You are getting ethnicity mixed up with geography!. "Latino" is ethnicity!. There are Latinos who live in Alaska!. They aren't Eskimos!. Haitians are mostly Black!. Most of them speak a version of French!. They live on a Caribbean Island that some people lump in with "Latin America" for convenience, sometimes!.

The biggest Chinatown outside of China is in Lima, Peru!. The people in it are Chinese, not Latinos, although they live in a Latin American country!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well thats news to me I thought they were Caribbean since Haiti is located in the Caribbean Sea!. As far as I know Latin America is Mexico, central America, and south America, at least thats what they told me in Spanish class and we cover all Latin America!. then if you want to include Cuba,Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico,Spain then you'll be talking about Hispanic countries except for PR since its not a country!.

lol!. I'm confused too!. They are west indian or Caribbean but not latino!. They are not apart of Latin America as far as I'm concerned, the are located in the West Indies or the Caribbean sea!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
