Nearest I could find is Christin, I'm certain Christiny has the same root meaning, but may have originated almost anywhere!.

Even if you find this as a surname!.!. that may have nothing to do with the reason that your parents chose the name!. First names can be made up, if a parent wants to!.
On the other hand!.!. many first names DO come through a family!. I know of many cases of using mom's maiden name for a first name for a child!. There are many Peytons out there, and this is a early Virginia family, where the name was passed down this way!. Nowadays, I think it is used a lot, just because people like it, and they have no idea of the background!.
