(Update - Shorty just verified in a private email that I had located the obituary she sought!. I am posting it below my original response!.)

Using the information you included sans name, I found a strong possible for you!. If you email me (you would need to change your parameters to allow for email, though), with the name I will check for you!.

At the moment I located a 23 year old that died on June 28, 2004, in Ohio after a battle with cancer who was nicknamed "Cabbage Patch"!. Does that mean anything to you!? If so, I can send you or print out the obituary which includes quite a bit of detail!.

If this turns out to be your sister's obituary, it does show how in genealogy, if you put all of the clues together, you can sometimes locate what you are looking for even though you have no name to search!.

I am sorry for your loss!.!.!.

The funeral home that handled her burial is required to keep a copy of the obituary!. They were the ones who placed it in the newspaper!. If you call them, they will give you a copy of it!. They might charge you a couple of dollars for copying and postage, but it's not much!. Your other option is to go to the library and pull the film!. Then you can photocopy it for between 5-10 cents!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are free obits but they are a relatively new thing with obits as old as 2005 and later!. The reason they do not go back very far is that they depend on contributions from there subscribers!.

Your best bet would be to get a copy through the newspaper or have a researcher get copy of it for you for a SMALL fee!. You would need to be sure to get the exact death date, so that their search would not take too long!. Many charge by the hour!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Go the the web site for the local paper and search their archives!. You culd also call the newspaper and ask for them to send you a copy of the obituary!. If you live near the paper's office go over there and ask for help!. Something this old, they might charge you but it should not be too much $$!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
