The previous answer is correct, you're best bet is a baptism register!. You will need to know the religion of the person!. Because it is in Dublin it is more likely to be Protestant than Catholic!. Dublin was the seat of government power and a lot of the people there were not Catholic, especially if they had money!. If they were poor then it's more likely they were Catholic!.

Narrowing down where in Dublin will also help!. The biggest Protestant church was, and is, Christ's Church and Catholic equivalent is St!. Patrick's!.
The website http://www!.irishgenealogy!.ie/csi/csi_mai!.!.!. might help they list some baptism records!.

I don't think Ancestry!.com includes the international files in their free trial!. A quick look at them doesn't seem to show any baptismal records for Dublin!. The Family History Center at an LDS church can order microfilm of some parish's in Dublin, they have some for the Church of Ireland and some Catholic, once again you'll need to go through all of them unless you know a more precise location in Dublin!.

Check with your local genealogy society and see if they have an Irish group, these people look for the same things you are and may be able to give you better tips!.

As a last resort you can hire a reputable genealogist in Ireland, but make sure you check them out and get references!.

You can try ancestry!.com!. They might give you a 14 day free trial if you have a credit card!. If you don't like it after that cancel it!. You can find a lot of info there!. Remember census records started in 1700!. Anything before that is lost!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
