If you don't already know whether you have Native American ancestry or not, then it shouldn't be important!. Unless you're adopted!. However, if you're just curious, I would suggest searching for your family members on the Native American rolls here:
http://www!.accessgenealogy!.com/native/ro!.!.!.

That's a good place to start, but it will take time and effort to find Native American ancestors, if indeed, they exist!. And most of those ways will cost money!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Start with your BASIC research which gives you the names, dates and places to work with!. It is very important that you look with an open mind, and not preconceived expectations!. Census records are very important to any research, and the one place having all of those is ancestry!.com!. You often will find that your local library offers it, or persons do lookups here, all the time, if you provide details ie name/ approx date and location!.
The Dawes Rolls is the best known of the records!.!. but it isn't the only record!. Not all Native Americans chose to be enrolled, but that will not change if they were noted in other documents!. You might find family who is believed to be NA and some records will conflict!.
Either way!.!. you can find your ancestry!. If it turns out to be NA, that is simply something that comes with the research!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
