GPS can be used to locate persons!.!. but only with a paid service and gps enabled phones!. I believe that you also have to have the consent of the other person, or be a parent!. (looked this up last night, for my son in law who drives a truck, and wants me to be able to know his location)!.
As for knowing their location from the area code!.!. NO!. They purchased their cell phones in Nev, and had them activated there, but they don't live in Nevada!. They are on the road, as their job!.
Nothing to stop anyone from buying a phone at a store in another state and having it set up with a number from that area!. It is not required to be where you live!. Step son lives in Arkansas, but Dallas area number for his cell!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, some cell phone service providers and phone manufacturers offer cell phones with a GPS in it!. You can go online and trace the phone on a map!. You'll just have to search around for a cell manufacturer and cell phone service providers that offers this!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!.!.!. My brother lives in Florida, but uses a mobile number that was issued in Texas!. He has been in Florida for four years, but if you look up the area code of the phone he uses, it is a Fort Worth , Texas area code!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
