If you're looking at the phone directories or the public information records, they're all at least 5 years old!. You would have had to have a phone in your name or owned a home 5 years ago for your information to show up!. Be happy that you're not there, it keeps goof balls from tracking you down too easily!. Genealogy tries to protect the living, but it doesn't always succeed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Generally genealogy sites do not have information on the living as it can be an invasion of privacy and can lead to identity theft!. In family trees, you wil be, for instance, Living Smith, not John Smith!.

If you are talking about birth records, it will depend if all the vital records from your state are on their website!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Generally you have to be dead; not always!.

I have everyone born after 1900 marked "Living" in my data, even if they aren't!. It's nobody's business which of my aunts are widows and which of my cousins had children who died in infancy!.

Some subscription sites have birth indexes that include living people!. Most free ones don't!.

If your sister's birth date is there, someome made a goof!. It should not be!. She is still telling her friends she is 28!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

SUPPOSEDLY genealogy websites are prohibited from displaying any information of any living persons!.
But, the THOUGHT POLICE haven't done a good job of patrolling!.
Just as with Census information: supposedly you can view Census info only if it is 70 years old (or older)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
