The following information is found on http://genforum!.genealogy!.com/gainey/mes!.!.!.

"William Henry Gainey was born November 10, 1809 in Brunswick County, North Carolina, and died October 12, 1886 in Brunswick County, North Carolina

He married ELIZABETH (UNKNOWN) Abt!. 1830 in Brunswick County, North Carolina!. She was born April 25, 1814 in North Carolina, and died May 15, 1889 in Brunswick County, North Carolina!."

You could try contacting the author, Cynthia Ganey (chganey @ aol!.com) to see if she has found any more information on Elizabeth!.

I'll look some more and see if there is anything else to be found!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Other than the immediate above, all I could see was "Elizabeth Unknown" or "Elizabeth Ganey" listed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

According to the 1850 Census, her name was Elizabeth and she was 50 (he was 40)!. They lived in Town Creek, Brunswick County, NC!. They were both born in NC according to this census record, as were all their kids!.!.!.

Not sure if you can get to this unless you're an Ancestry!.com subscriber, but try this (long) link to see all the family trees uploaded by people whose research includes William Ganey: http://search!.ancestry!.com/cgi-bin/sse!.d!.!.!.

The ones I looked at don't seem to have information about Elizabeth, but they are "public" trees and you could contact the people who posted them!.!.!. I did that with a very distant cousin a few months ago and together we were able to put together a few pieces of the puzzle of our shared ancestry!

Best of luck to you!Www@QuestionHome@Com
