the fact that it says different countries means that it is NOT limited to one location!. Not to mention, I also see Mexico as an origin in the 1930 census!. (I see many persons with this last name)!.
Thus!.!. the "correct" answer is only going to come from where your actual ancestors came from!. Many new researchers have the idea that they have a French (Irish, Greek) last name, which makes them that heritage!. Sorry, it doesn't always work like that!.
By the way!.!. the social security death index has over 700 persons with the name!. All that means is that you have never met someone with your last name!. Their ancestors will not necessarily come from the same country as yours!.

If you take a little bit of time to go through this guide, it gives you an explanation of how to trace your FAMILY!. Once you get to an ancestor who was in the 1930 census, it normally is not hard to find where their line comes from!. If you want some help, you can post a specific name (approx age/ place) and someone will do a lookup for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I can't find you the meaning of Jasso, but I did manage to track down the Jasso coat of arms!.

Hang on, found something:

Jasso
Usage: Basque, Spanish

A variant of Jaso!.

Jaso
Usage: Basque

Derived from Basque jats "sorghum"!. Sorghum is a type of cereal grass!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is from ancestry!.com:
possibly Basque: variant spelling of Jaso!.
In some cases possibly an altered spelling of French Jassot, a topographic name from a derivative of jas ‘resting place for animals’!.

There are immigrants from several different countries!. If you are trying to find your own ancestry, you will have to do the research!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
