Question: BLood TYPE AB`!?

Why is it so rare!? I have this blood type and its origins of from ghengis khan apparently!. Does this mean some of my ancestors are from there!? I'm jewish and always get mistakened for being italian or turkish!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

AB isn't as rare as it used to be!. All of my kids from my first marriage are AB positive!. I'm A positive and their dad is B positive!. All of the kids inherited both proteins and it has nothing to do with ethnicity!. As my obstetrician explained to my ex, A and B are only proteins!. O is lack of the proteins!. A baby can inherit either protein or both proteins from the parents!. It's indiscriminate in the womb!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Europeans populations are characterized by a low type B blood frequency and a relatively high type A blood frequency while Asians are characterized by a high frequency of both type A and B blood!. Type AB is more frequent in Asia than in Europe, but it's still the rarest blood type there or anywhere!.
