There are few people with a family name spelt exactly the same through every generation, until the early 20th!.century, and even then, the majority of people could not read or write,
so their name was often spelt however someone else heard it, or thought that it should be spelt, as people learned to write they often spelt their name the same way it had been written on documents that they had in their possession!.
I think your name is simply another variation of the one's you have already found, exactly where it originated is the difficult part, but it seems likely to have been France, even if you were to trace your line back to, for example, England!.

Surname: Cassel
This interesting name is of early medieval English topographical origin, and is derived from the Anglo-Norman French "castel", castle, fortified building or set of buildings, especially the residence of a feudal lord!. The name could also have denoted a servant who lived and worked at such a place!. Topographical surnames were among the earliest created, since both natural and man-made features in the landscape provided easily recognisable distinguishing names!. The name development since 1154 (see below) includes the following: Henry de Castell (1260, Cambridgeshire), John del Castel (1307, Yorkshire), and William ate Castele (1317, Kent)!. The modern surname can be found as Castle, Castles, Castell and Castells, Chasteau, Kastel, Chatelet, Castelletti etc!. Richard Castle (deceased 1751) was an architect who was born in Germany of German parents and moved to Ireland before 1720, where he designed many buildings in Dublin and in the provinces!. He was also known as Cassel or Cassels!. A Coat of Arms granted to the family is argent, three towers gules, the crest being a castle in flames!. The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Richard Castel, which was dated 1148-1154, in the "Records of Bec Abbey", Sussex, during the reign of King Stephen, known as "The Count of Blois", 1135 - 1154!.

The spelling of any name is very often different from the original, and has little to do with actual relationships!. Finding an "exact match" is not what you need to be concerned with!.
In addition!.!. MANY names have different places that it comes from!. You can only rely on the actual origins of a PERSON!. Surnames don't have genealogies!.!. only people!. If you locate such a site!.!. especially when it always claims "noble family since day 1" and has family crests for sale!.!. back out the door quietly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
