Question: Staying in the Aran Islands!?
What is the best way to find host families--similar to ones for students--in the Aran Islands!? I want to travel to the Aran Islands from the U!.S!. but with more freedom than if I were in a University-arranged program!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would google Aran Islands, or get in touch with the nearest Embassy or Consulate or tourist board for Ireland!. Have you checked with the university programs!? They may be sble to give you some leads, even if you do not want to participate in their program!. You could also go to one of the internet travel boards and do a posting, such as Fodors!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You could try emailing the nearest Uni's, see if they would be prepared to put a request on their notice board!.
I'm certain Arran is much too small even for a college !
Glasgow and Paisley are, I think the closest Uni's

There are three ports serving the Aran Islands, they are Rosaveel, Galway and, in County Clare, Doolin!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
