It's fairly common in the English speaking world (my brother-in-law for one)!. Nowadays it's difficult to judge 'odd' names thanks to the plethora of ridiculous choices people seem to make when choosing their child's name!. Just look at any celebrity newborn!. In terms of my family, nothing really bizarre - a few Gregor McGregors and things like that!.
