As you have your grandfathers details, you will need a copy of his birth certificate to find his father`s name.
Southern Ireland indexes are available at most LDS Family History Centres. Look in your local phone book under Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Once you have the reference you will need to order birth certificate from Registrar General, Joyce House, 8-11 Lombard Street, Dublin 2, Ireland.
The cost of a certificate is 10 Euros.

As he was adopted, it is quite possible that his father was not recorded on the birth certificate.
If this is the case, he will be difficult to trace, as he may not have been known.
