Contact the tribe directly http://www.utemountainute.com/ should give you some contact numbers. (This is the tribe that the Weeminuche Band is part of, not the Southern Ute Tribe which is comprised of two other bands and not Weeminuche.) Talk to someone in the enrollment department, give them your family name and they may be able to help.

There are two good sites to help you, www. reunion.com which has Message Boards and one Message Board has full time Staff Members to help Adopted Adult Children to find their birth parents or heritage. Also, there is www.ancestry.com which will help you too. Good Luck! I think Native American Organizations will help you too. Good Luck!

You will ultimately need to contact the Tribal Council for your band or nation, to determine what their requirements are for enrollment. First you'll want to be able to demonstrate parental descendancy from an enrolled member.

If @ all possible find your parents~See the tree~research the line ~then go from there! I am so sorry 2 hear "get some monies"!!!! It"s this attitude that robs many of their Heritage/Family line of History!! SHAME ON YOU!!!

Brings Light already told you everything you need to know so I can't add anything more...
