I'd say it's a combination of increased confidence and the fact that many people relate tallness to dominance. In general, people are growing taller than in the past, so the average height of any specific group of people is likely to be above that at which it might have been, say 40 years ago. Historically height has had nothing to do with wealth or power, Napoleon Bonaparte was 5'6", Joseph Stalin was 5'4", Adolf Hitler was 5'9". Queen Victoria and Admiral Lord Nelson were just 5'0". Strength of character has more to do with the amassing of wealth and power, than height. because most people under 6foot 2 are remembered in history!!! alexander the great bono jesus etc. |
