Position:Home>Genealogy> Two letters of my surname were transposed on registration.Which version should I

Question:If you are talking about the Registration of your birth - then I'm afraid you are stuck with that - unless you want to change it by deed poll...

When I registered my son's birth we were asked to check and double check the spelling - whatever goes on that document is the name by which you are known... therefore, you need to replicate that on your passport application!

What registration are we talking about? I'd talk to the Passport office helpline...24-hour Passport Adviceline 0870 521 0410

Complain to the Passport office.

You should probably get in touch with whomever the registration was done and have them right their wrong ...

Use your legal name that is on your birth certificate. If someone transposed letters on the application or actual passport, just point out the error and they'll happily correct it.
