It is lovely, dear, but if you live in an English-speaking country, your parents have condemmed you to a lifetime of saying "K-a-r-o-l-i-n, not C-a-r-o-l-y-n". Even so, your great grandchildren will find you as "Carolyn" about 10% - 50% of the time.

My grandfather Wilken spent a life time saying "That's 'k-E-n', no 'S' on the end". I find he and his siblings as Wilkens, Wilkin and WIlkins constantly.

Let put it this way; your parents gave you that name, because they like it. You grow up with that name, and if you like it, what you most probable do. Well, i think its a nice name. don't let any body tell you otherwise. Maybe they jealous.

It's nice! You can be Karolin, or Karol, or Lin whenever you feel like it!
