Position:Home>Genealogy> What are some common scottish facial characteristics?

Question:It is hard to generalize, but there is a tendency for young Scots to be slim and wiry, with high cheek bones. David Tennent (Dr Who) and the guy who plays Desmond in Lost have this type of feature.
Some older Scots men tend to have a lot of facial hair, bushy eyebrows etc.
A red nose is often the resut of drinking too much Whisky!
Scots women can be very pretty with delicate features.
Some say they tend to have a lot of red headed people.

Well, being northern European ,they may have long as opposed to broad heads and light skin. That's all i can think of.

Scottland is a country but it's not a separate racial group of people. so they would share characteristics with other northern Europeans in general.

My g. grandfather, b. 1824, (and I do Have an old picture of him)
wore a beard and 'stash', in uniform going to Gettysburg. His face is long (as is mine) high forehead, he had red hair, mine is (still) blond. He is also stated to be 6'3" in his war records, a shocker for me...but explains where the tall men originate in my mother's lines. I inherited his freckles. (:])
