It is quite a common name in the UK - my computer has given me the information that there are in excess of 200 people on the electoral roll called Pridmore. It stops counting when it gets to 200.
If you are researching family in a specific area then any Pridmores living there could be significant.
Try googling "Pridmore Family" and see if anything comes up.

here is one location where a number of persons are researching this name. If you are talking about the US, you can also run the name through www.peoplefinder.com or www.zabasearch.com.
