I know that the phrase means "Under your protection" in Polish.

Here in Chicago the Polish population is second only to Warsaw. I would visit several Polish Catholic Parishes in their neighborhood and keep getting referrals until I found out the information I wanted. All depends on how much time you want to spend, but that would be the best way. You're going straight to the source. A great deal of the people are Polish born.

It is Polish, the style Mary is done in is Russian Orthodox, and it's not very old. The back metal isn't right to be very old. The middle part with Mary looks to be pewter or very tarnished silver. The back metal, the bit that's enameled, is maybe steel, or something plated in nickel. The way it's got two holes looks to be worn on something else, not separately around your neck like most religious medals. You didn't mention any mark on the back, and didn't take pics of that, so I'm assuming it's blank. So, it isn't an expensive piece. Those would have the country of origin on the back at least.
