Small birth certificate showing different reference?

Question:on my grandfathers small birth certificate it says 4a/461

and when I look on ancesty.co.uk, it shows only 1 thomas james dando 1916, 11a/260

I did a search of the marriage index for 1916 looking for Thomas' details I found his details it said he married someone with the name Prosser, they wed in the A/M/J quarter the the volume number was 11a and the page number 260 . What was his wife's Christian name, do you know.
