I couldn't find one instance of the name Torrenday; however, there was a family in Philadelphia in the US 1930 Census. The father's birth was given as Italy, which is Southern Europe, not Northern Europe, so I'm not sure that fits.

I found once instance of the surname Thoroday in Illinois.

Have you ever seen this name on paper, or just verbally? You could ask who specifically told your father it was Southern Europe and work from there. Having a think about the original source is best in these circumstances.

Just wanted to add that family in Philadelphia was Torrende. Joseph Torrende, born in Italy in 1890. He married Josephine. Report It

  • I was unable to find anyone with that name in the UK Electoral Roll - tried a few different spellings without success.
    Sorry

Is you dad still around?? Ask him how to spell this name and what is his source.

I tried searching here, http://howmanyofme.com/search/ but there isn't one person by that name in the USA either.
