yes.

Yep.

yes.

Yes - you have to contact Guiness and let them know you are trying to break a record. Someone will watch or document your attempt to verify it!

there has too be a witness..proof you are breaking the record.

Yep I think so.

That's like asking whether holes-in-one where noone else is looking counts. No way.

yes, go to their website. it also cant be a stupid record... it has to be legit.

Oh no. You seem like an honest person, I'm sure they would just take your word for it.

Yes, you do. Someone from Guiness has to witness and document whatever record you are trying to break. Good luck!

Yuppers.

Just out of curiosity, why was this posted in geneaology?

Has to be witnessed by a member of the staff.

There is information on their website about how to contact them and set it up.

You definitely need a trustworthy witness and a sharp, clear video, will go a long way as proof.

yes, check out the rob N big show, they had the guy come out n see them break some good and funny records.

yea. anyone can say something like "i jumped 200ft!"
or "i ate 1,456,953 pickles in an hour!"
but they need proof, so people dont go saying these things and ending up in the Guiness Book of World Records. the book would go on seemingly forever if it worked that way.

Of corce ya do! Some people just go and say they do something and they really don't. So just make sure you have practice to do what you want to break the record for because you don't want to make a fool of your self. lol.

The record does not have to be "witnessed" by a Guiness staff member, but, the record has to have some reliable documentation, such as a newspaper or other media account.

Be sure to contact the Guiness records staff of your intentions. Some "records" will not be considered for publication.

I just wish people would spell Guinness properly
